In 2021, LeTourneau University experienced a lot of change as did many of us. As a faith-based institution, leadership agreed that such change had created an ideal time to launch a new strategic plan to unify our primary goals and maximize the next three years.

Among many initiatives set forth, our marketing team came up with the idea to create a completely custom journal, incorporating words from the university president and a prayer plan from the campus pastor. It was my job to bring that vision to life.

After discussions about size, form factor and general design among other things, we decided to take the most meaningful and ambitious approach. We worked with production partners to create a hand-sewn, lay-flat journal that could accommodate entries for all of the three years of the plan’s implementation. We chose a hardcover design, wrapped in a charcoal, faux-linen texture and embossed it with the “Elements of the Strategic Plan” visuals that I previously created. The end result was a quality piece worthy of the quality content we’d hoped our partners would write inside it.
